Life Certificate for pensioners living overseas
From time-to-time East Sussex Pension Fund must confirm that pensioner members living abroad remain entitled to receive their pension payment. We check this by providing you with a form to complete – called a Life Certificate.
The certificate is in two parts:
Section A should be completed and signed by you.
Section B of the Life Certificate should be completed by a witness in a recognised profession who must know you in a personal or professional capacity but cannot be a next of kin. They do not need to live in the UK or have a British passport. Please note that Consular Officials at your local Embassy cannot act as witnesses for this purpose.
Examples of permittable witnesses can be found here
We have provided two options to help you complete the forms. Please select the link you find most useful.
Option 1 - Print off the form and complete by hand |
|
Option 2 - Complete the form electronically (signatures must be handwritten) |
Please complete the Life Certificate by 31 July 2024 and send it to us via:
Email: [email protected]
or
Post: Pensions, East F, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, East Sussex, England, BN7 1UE
Important note:
We are obliged to ensure we pay the right benefits to the correct person and this check is an essential part of that process. If we do not receive the Life Certificate returned within the timeframe we specify, we will have to suspend your pension until such time as a completed Life Certificate is received.
Please do not hesitate to email or call us on 0300 200 1022 if you have any questions.
