Our digital assistant ESPA, is able to answer hundreds of the more common questions that we have historically received through our Helpdesk.

What is a chatbot?

A chatbot or digital assistant is designed to simulate human conversation, answering your general pension questions with pre-calculated responses.

Why has this been introduced?

We've introduced ESPA to help our members and employers find the answers they need, quickly and easily.

ESPA is available 24/7 and can provide answers to commonly asked questions outside of our core office hours. ESPA is only available on our most widely used website pages, but we will look to improve functionality and scope in future.

How do I ask ESPA a question?

If you are using our website, select the image below from the website page you are on.

You can then choose one of our more commonly asked questions or type your own question into the text box. ESPA will then respond with an answer or prompt for you to re-phrase your question if it struggles to understand what you are looking for.

The chatbot responds best if your question is phrased clearly in four or more words but is not too long.

Can I provide feedback to ESPA?

ESPA allows you to give feedback on how well the chatbot has answered your question via the rating option. As we are early in our journey with ESPA, your feedback is important in order that we can continually improve this service.
